Even if you do not have resident registration in Japan, it is possible to purchase real estate within the country. However, there are necessary documents required at the time of application and during the real estate transfer registration and handover.
At the time of application (please submit one of the following):
- A driver's license issued by your country or state of residence (must verify name, address, and date of birth)
- Japanese passport + a certificate of residence issued by a Japanese embassy or consulate
During real estate transfer registration and handover:
- An application form using domestic contact information as the application details
- A consent form from the person who will be the domestic contact
