Foreign PEPs refer to prominent individuals in foreign governments or similar entities (those holding significant positions in foreign governments) and their families. Please check if you fall under any of the following categories:
- Head of a foreign state
- Individuals in foreign countries equivalent to the Prime Minister, other Ministers of State, or Vice Ministers in Japan
- Individuals in foreign countries equivalent to the Speaker or Vice Speaker of the House of Representatives, or the President or Vice President of the House of Councillors in Japan
- Individuals in foreign countries equivalent to judges of the Supreme Court in Japan
- Individuals in foreign countries equivalent to ambassadors extraordinary and plenipotentiary, special envoys, government representatives, or plenipotentiary delegates in Japan
- Individuals in foreign countries equivalent to the Chief of Staff, Vice Chief of Staff, Chief of Staff of the Ground Self-Defense Force, Vice Chief of Staff of the Ground Self-Defense Force, Chief of Staff of the Maritime Self-Defense Force, Vice Chief of Staff of the Maritime Self-Defense Force, Chief of Staff of the Air Self-Defense Force, or Vice Chief of Staff of the Air Self-Defense Force in Japan
- Executives of central banks
- Executives of corporations whose budgets require approval or resolution by the national assembly (referring to corporations with public significance and credibility in foreign countries, similar to government-affiliated financial institutions like the Okinawa Development Finance Corporation in Japan)
- Individuals who have previously fallen under any of the categories 1 to 8 above
- Family members of individuals falling under any of the categories 1 to 9 above (including spouses, even if not legally registered but in a de facto marriage, parents, children, siblings, and the parents and children of the spouse)
